I just love going through a twitter feed after an event where I felt like I was running running running and talking talking talking! How can you capture the conversations in the room? How can you capture the learning that took place and the open doors that will follow after today? Thank you to all who attended and kept those conversations going. I know as educators, we think we have it all figured out, but the next day and the next year and the next class comes, and you just have to keep learning! It feels amazing to be in the same building with so many like minded individuals and to be able to keep the learning going even if in a virtual way! Spring is here, keep opening those doors! https://twitter.com/edcampHALTON

We are less than one week away! We already have double the registrations than last year. Inspired by our colleagues over at EdCamp905 we are hoping for more of an Open Forum this year. How will you open your door to change? Join us! Well today we held our first ever EdcampHALTON April 8, 2017 at JVCSS Milton.
We have opened our doors, hearts, & minds to change.....oh the possibilites... We lived the dream and have a take away for Monday and something for someday. Special thanks to all who attended IRL and for those who joined us on-line. #neverstoplearning Next EdcampHALTON Saturday April 7, 2018 We would like to thank the committee members as we finish off with our first ever EdCampHALTON! Pictured are Maureen, Kristen, Rosina, Michelle, Matt, Roberta and Susan. I took the picture so the small one is of Mary and myself. Unable to attend were Teresa, Erin, Katie and Kristina, who have also been working hard!
A few weeks ago my students and I were inspired by the artist Norval Morisseau (1931 - 2007). My students were looking into the symbolism of animals in legends in Woodland art and other traditions. One of my students last year lost her brother and I knew the family thought of him every time they saw a dragonfly. When I left the school she gave me a bracelet containing a dragonfly and her note said dragonflies symbolized change and transformation. Dragonflies also have the ability for swift movements and response to change. Naturally, when we enlisted my former colleague Michelle Ciarloni to make our logo for EdCampHALTON 2017 I asked her if she could incorporate dragonflies. She of course exceeded anything I could've ever come up with and made this beautiful artwork for our event! We hope you can join us!
- Olivia We are very excited to announce that Peter Cameron will be our keynote speaker. Peter will be sharing with us his ideas about how we are ALL Difference Makers. We each have the incredible power to make a difference for ourselves and others. Innovating is looking beyond “what is” and asking “what could be?” By thinking outside of the box (and the text) and challenging the status quo, Peter shares stories of how he innovates to make a difference and how, in turn, he empowers his students to do the same. He will challenge and inspire you. He will help you realize your full potential to be a change maker. We are really looking forward to learning with Peter! - Olivia and Maureen
Hello from Olivia and Maureen! We are very excited to be bringing you our first ever EdCampHALTON on April 8, 2017. We have been dreaming of this event for a few years now and are so grateful that we are in the final planning stages. Our theme for this year is "Opening Our Door to Change" as we feel that we have become better educators once we open our door to collaborating with each other. We hope this EdCamp brings educators new ideas for opening their door to the possibilities! PS Happy belated birthday Dr. Seuss, "oh the places you'll go!"
